Hospice of the Western Reserve, now in its 40th year, is the region’s largest nonprofit community-based hospice organization. Hospice of the Western Reserve provides palliative and end-of-life care, caregiver support, and bereavement services throughout Northern Ohio. In celebration of the individual worth of each life, Hospice of Western Reserve strives to relieve suffering, enhance comfort, promote quality of life, foster choice in end-of-life care, and support effective grieving.
University Hospitals, guided by our goal to continually innovate and enhance patient care, has formed a joint venture with Hospice of the Western Reserve. Effective Jan. 1, 2019, Hospice of the Western Reserve at University Hospitals will begin providing UH patients the highest-quality hospice and bereavement services available.
The new joint venture, which will focus on serving the needs of our UH patient population and families, will build on the strengths of both organizations to provide a continuum of individualized services. The joint venture will be equally owned by UH and Hospice of the Western Reserve, with Hospice of the Western Reserve managing the day-to-day clinical care and patient-facing operations, and UH providing administrative and managerial support.
