Jeffrey Klein

Jeff leads the Inside-Out team for UH Ventures.  Also referred to as “technology transfer,” Inside-Out focuses on working with UH innovators and inventors to develop and commercialize technologies, know-how, and other expertise that were created at UH.  While responsibilities include intellectual property protection and licensing, Jeff and the Inside-Out team also collaborate with the Product Strategy, Outside-In, and other Ventures teams to maximize commercialization efficiency and potential impact of the UH portfolio.

Jeff has 15 years of experience at the academic-industry interface.  Jeff served in the National Institutes of Health and Case Western Reserve University Technology Transfer Offices, as Project Manager at Harrington Discovery Institute, and as Associate Director of Intellectual Property at NovelMed Therapeutics.

Jeff received his PhD in Biology from the Johns Hopkins University and MBA from Case Western Reserve University.  Jeff is a Registered Patent Agent and has active Project Management Professional accreditation.  Jeff is a member of the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM) and Licensing Executives Society (LES).
