Sara Battles

Sara supports the full spectrum of product development within UH Ventures. She guides the advancement of UH technologies through early concept to commercial launch and fosters product development efforts between external partners and clinical leaders at UH. Her work includes problem discovery/ethnography, project management, research and regulatory consulting, and vendor management.

Prior to joining Ventures, Sara worked for over 10 years in clinical research at Ohio State, Duke University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and the Durham VA. She has led the implementation of multi-site NIH- and DOD-funded research, studying violence and suicide risk, traumatic injury, pain development and management, and PTSD.  Most recently, she was the Director of Projects at a software development firm specializing in innovation, advancing the development of multiple health and research applications. She is also a licensed K-12 school counselor. Sara graduated with a B.S. in Psychology from The Ohio State University and a M.Ed. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
